Frequently Asked Questions.
What is Lumina Health & Wellness?
Lumina Health & Wellness is a cash-pay integrative clinical practice serving women in perimenopause and menopause across Colorado. I hold dual board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner and a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner — which means hormones, metabolism, mood, sleep, and lifestyle are evaluated together, in one clinical relationship, as one connected picture.
Every client begins with The Horizon Method — a structured 90-day process delivered through The Horizon Cohort program.
Who is Lumina for?
Lumina is for women in perimenopause or menopause who have been told their labs are "normal" while their weight, energy, sleep, and mood say otherwise. Women who are capable and established — and whose bodies have quietly stopped keeping up.
If you are looking for a clinician who will read your labs against what's optimal for a woman in midlife, connect your physical and mental health in one plan, and hold you accountable across ninety days — Lumina was built for you.
Do you accept insurance?
No. Lumina is cash-pay by design — not because I don't respect insurance, but because stepping outside it is the only way I can give you the time, the comprehensive labs, the integrated plan, and the follow-through the work actually requires.
Insurance models are built around standardized, symptom-focused care and fifteen-minute appointments. The Horizon Method requires something different. Transparent, upfront pricing is provided before anything is ordered or prescribed.
What is The Horizon Method?
The Horizon Method is Lumina's signature clinical process — the framework that connects hormones, metabolism, mood, sleep, and lifestyle into one integrated picture. It is delivered through five clinical waypoints across ninety days:
Heard — comprehensive intake and whole-person review
Understood — full lab panel interpreted against optimal ranges, not just reference ranges
Walked — personalized clinical protocol launched and underway
Steadied — mid-program recalibration and adjustment
Equipped — Day 90 outcomes summary and sustainability plan
What is The Horizon Cohort?
The Horizon Cohort is the 90-day flagship program — the primary way women work with Lumina. Five women walk through The Horizon Method together, with comprehensive labs, a personalized clinical protocol, 1:1 wellness coaching with Brad, and eight group sessions across the six pillars of lifestyle medicine.
What is included in The Horizon Cohort?
Every component below is included in the program investment:
Five clinical waypoint visits with Kim (Days 0, 14, 45, 75, and 90)
Comprehensive baseline lab panel — full hormone, thyroid, metabolic, inflammatory, nutrient, and cardiovascular workup
Mid-program lab recheck when indicated
Validated symptom inventories administered at Days 0, 45, and 90
Unified clinical protocol — hormone optimization, metabolic support, mental health considerations, targeted supplementation
Five 1:1 coaching sessions with Brad, board-certified wellness coach
Eight thematic group sessions across the six pillars of lifestyle medicine
Mid-program clinical report and Day 90 outcomes summary
Secure clinical messaging with one-business-day response
Fullscript dispensary access at practitioner pricing
Structured transition and ongoing-care plan at Day 90
Medication costs, pharmacy fees, and specialty testing are billed separately at transparent pricing — discussed and agreed before ordering.
Are visits conducted remotely?
Yes. All clinical visits are conducted via secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform across Colorado. You do not need to be in Colorado Springs — you need to be licensed in Colorado.
What happens after the 90-day program?
Graduates of The Horizon Cohort are invited to continue through Lumina Membership — ongoing clinical care, coaching, and community available in two tiers: Sustain and Optimize. Membership is available to Horizon graduates only and is introduced during the Day 90 graduation visit.
How do I get started?
Start with a complimentary 15-minute discovery call. We'll talk about where you are, whether The Horizon Method is the right fit, and what the next step looks like. You'll get an honest answer — even if it's "not yet."
